How it all started
I am passionate about collecting fountain pens. But I havent really curated my collection particularly well - for the last 20+ years I have just bought what I liked and could afford. I did a lot of research but that was more about price than the history and special features that make many pens unique. I have throughly enjoyed myself, but now I have more time, I want to refocus, curate and restore my collection.
That said there are a few themes - Montblanc, vintage large ribbed pens, custom pens (particularly Parker 51s!) and others. I’ll certainly be keeping a large collection and still hope to add to it over time. I have been very fortunate in my collecting journey to make many friends, to be mentored by very generous, kind and knowledgable people, and to travel to international pen shows to see the massive variety and diversity of the world of fountain pens.
There does come a point though, for me at least, where the frantic hunt for new pens needs to take a more measured approach. At the same time, it is necessary to release those pens (and there are many) that will simply never be used or fit into the future themes I’d like to explore. I have also accumulated a lot of pens almost unintentionally through purchases of pen bundles to acquire a particular piece, or have found a pen in better shape than the one I already own to upgrade the collection, but have not moved on the original pen.
There are many ways to to sell unwanted pens, eBay, social media pages, to other dealers and so on. I decided I wanted to try my hand at a website and here we are. Thank you for taking the time to have a look at the site. i hope you find something of interest. My apologies in advance if the site is a bit clunky or less than polished - I am not an IT expert and hope to make the selling journey fun - but kind and critical feedback is always welcome.
I wish you happy writing, successful collecting and warmest regards
Nick
