MODERN PENS
Modern pens blend cutting-edge technology with timeless craftsmanship, offering smooth, vibrant writing for professionals, artists, and enthusiasts. From ballpoints with precision-engineered tungsten carbide tips to eco-friendly fountain pens with iridium nibs, these tools combine ergonomic design, durable materials like titanium, and innovations like smart pens that digitize handwriting. More than utilities, modern pens symbolize personal expression, bridging analog tradition with digital innovation in a world increasingly dominated by screens.
This is an unusual modern pen. The pen is a Bexley Columbus Ohio 2001 fountain pen in Black with gold coloured trim. The maker, Bexley Pens in the USA no longer makes pens.
The rare and special part of this pen is that it is a sleeve filler, a system more usually seen on vintage pens. The back of the barrel is unscrewed to reveal a steel push bar which is pressed into a sac, a similar operation to a Parker 51 aero metric filler. This filler operates as it should. Only bottled ink can be used.
The pen is in good used condition.
The nib is a 14k medium bi-tome colour, and writes smoothly.
The Pelikan M620 Shanghai Cities Series fountain pen is a delight to behold with its unique semi-translucent barrel with vibrant red and orange tones, complimented by gold coloured trim! This pen is rare, only being sold by Pelikan in 2004.
Key features
Design: The pen features a semi-transparent, striped resin body in red and orange, with gold-plated trim, a gold-plated beak-shaped clip, and a black piston knob and section. There is a one-chick logo on the cap finial depending on production year; the Shanghai model was the first to feature the one-chick logo.
Nib: The pen has a smooth medium bi-tone 18C (18k) gold nib
Filling system: The pen uses Pelikan's reliable piston-filling mechanism. The translucent barrel allows users to view the remaining ink level.
Size: The M620 is based on the size of the modern M600, placing it between the M400 and M800 in the Souverän series. Its size is often considered a comfortable, mid-range option for many writers.
Condition: This pen is used with a small amount of wear on the clip but is in otherwise very good condition.
A rather special and rare pen, which if my research is correct, was only sold between 2003 - 2015.
This m605 is in solid blue colour way, with chrome trim. The silver coloured cap finial is in "2 chicks" format.
The pen is a piston filler, which operates correctly.
It has a dual colour 14k extra fine (I believe) width nib. I get some feedback when writing with this nib.
Comes in a Pelikan box and with papers.

The pen comes in a shade grey OMAS pen sleeve, in a silver and grey OMAS box, protected by an OMAS outer sleeve, which has the limited edition number and bar code sticker on it.
The pen itself is in excellent condition. The roller clip is in excellent condition, the trim is unmarked, and the fluted resin barrel and cap with no real signs of use.
The pen is piston filled, from bottled ink, which is working properly.
